Raw Meat (hunt in the Forest of Spirits area, located on the Great Plateau).Stand on an island or bank and toss bombs at the water, then detonate them so the blast kills the fish before they can swim away from you. To find the Hyrule Bass, check in the pond just downhill from the Shrine of Resurrection (the cave where Link appears at the start of the game). Birds, which are easier to hit because they move around less, also serve the same purpose. The boars in the Forest of Spirits are your best bet, if you can shoot one in the face with an arrow. To prepare the dish the first time around, grab some of the peppers the woodcutter keeps in the cabin, then hunt down nearby wildlife. That recipe also comes in handy later in the game, since there are plenty of other times you must venture into cold regions. You need a warmer tunic, which the wandering woodcutter happily supplies if you prepare his favorite dish. That said, I would recommend upgrading at least the Sensor and Bombs since they have much more practical use in the field than the Stasis rune upgrade.Early in the game, as you explore the Great Plateau region, you encounter high-altitude areas you can't safely explore due to freezing temperatures. While they are still quite useful, they will not be needed to complete the game. It should be noted that the Sheikah Slate upgrades are purely optional, and only serve to improve your in-game quality of life. By doing so, you get the chance to wail on opponents before they have a chance to react.

What this upgrade does is allow Link to freeze enemies in time.

Thankfully, Shrine Guardians will also have these items as drops, so you won't have to worry too much about how to take down the colossal beasts. Only one set of particular materials is required to upgrade each rune, so don't worry about having all of them on hand.įinding the items can be a chore since the most common place to find them are none other than Guardians. These materials are: three ancient screws, three ancient shafts, and three ancient cores. Once you have completed the main quest for this area, Purah will offer you the chance to upgrade your Sheikah Slate's functions in exchange for ancient materials. To make it easier on you, be sure to light all the torches on the way - or else you could risk losing the blue flame to rain. There will be a short little quest that requires you to bring a blue flame to the furnace of the laboratory. Afterward, head to Hateno Village to repair the Sheikah Slate. Simply head to Kakariko to begin this main quest. Until you have completed the main quest up to the point where Impa sends you to Hateno Village to repair the Sheikah Slate, you won't be able to upgrade your runes. While I would love to tell you that upgrading the Sheikah Slate is as simple as walking through the door, it isn't.
